About us
We believe that no one in our community should face hunger.

That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to people in the St Albans district.
We are part of a nationwide community of food banks, supported by Trussell, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
The St Albans & District Foodbank was established in May 2014 as a member of the Trussell network of Foodbanks. It is supported by a wide variety of churches, community groups and individuals.
When people come to us for help we try to get to the root cause of the 'crisis' and direct them to where they can obtain help to resolve the problems they are facing.
We run nine food banks a week across the district at different times/days/locations. We offer on-site financial and holistic support to provide emotional and practical help and make referrals to specialist services. Most clients tend to use the food bank nearest to them due to lack of transport and the cost of fares. For details of our locations, click here.
